Applications Sulphonated Oil SS Sulfonated oils are anionic surfactants, which is why they have properties like wetting, dispersing, emulsifying or lubricating. Sulfonated oils SS are a new sulfonated fatliquoring materials prepared from natural vegetable oil by sulfur trioxide membrane sulfonation. It can either be fatliquored on its own or combined with other fatliquors. It can make leather feel soft and plump, is compatible with many other fatliquors, and can also be mixed to produce a different type of leather-fatliquor. Sulfonated SS oil has a high permeability. After fat is added, leather becomes soft, plump and oily. It won't migrate through the fibers of leather, and it will not produce an oily cream or oil spots. It is a good fatliquoring agent because it has a high emulsification rate and a stable emulsion. Its compatibility with other fatliquoring material has made it a popular new material used in leather chemical factories to produce medium- and high grade fatliquors. Sulfonated Oil is used widely in the textile, leather, paper and metal processing industries. It is also used for agricultural preparations as an emulsifier.
